Welcome Band Boosters!  

Who is a VVHS Band Booster?  If you have a child in the VVHS band program (any group), then you are a VVHS Band Booster!

Your booster group needs your help!  Your involvement this coming year is invaluable in making our band program that much stronger for our kids!

How can you help?

A successful band program relies on the support of the parents.  There are many ways you can get involved.  Please contact the appropriate committee chair.  For an overview of each committee, please see below.

 Fundraising

The fundraising committee coordinates with the fundraising committee chair and  board of directors to discuss fundraising opportunities, commit to fundraisers, and ensure that all fundraisers are operated and closed out according to pre-determined timelines.

 Hospitality

The hospitality committee coordinates with the hospitality committee chair and board of directors to ensure that pre-determined band events have enough food and volunteers to support the students at each event.

 Pit Crew

The pit crew committee coordinates with the pit crew committee chair and board of directors to ensure that all band equipment is transport to and from pre-determined events, and is handled correctly during each event.  This involves loading and unloading of trucks and/or trailers and transporting of equipment within the event as appropriate.

 Uniform Committee

The uniform committee coordinates with the uniform committee chair and board of directors to ensure that the band uniforms are maintained, transported, and utilized at appropriate band events.   This includes coordination with the pit crew on proper transport of the uniforms to events as necessary.

Chaperone(s)

Ensuring the safety of our students is the most important thing we do as chaperones.  All of our chaperones must have a current APS background check on file.  Please see the Quick Reference Guide.  

We need you...to chaperone! We need chaperones for any off-campus event, and those happen all year long.  What do you need to do?

1. Complete your online application here. It costs $12, is good for 2 years, and takes about 10 days. The results will go directly to you. 

2. Email a copy of your cleared background check to chaperone@vvhsband.org  once you have it. They take about 10 business days; get those in so you can experience the fun of chaperoning the best high school band in Albuquerque.
